Hannah Selby, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, is a poet, editor, and scholar of comparative world literature. Their academic research has explored topics such as conservation history in the United States, ecocritical approaches to authorship in English and Chinese contexts, and the transmission of premodern and digital literature. Their scholarly writing can be found in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Conservation History. As a poet, they are primarily concerned with exploring the idea of the self in relation to philosophical questions of reality, memory, consciousness, belonging, and place. They are a founding member of the GeoHumanities Collective, and they are currently working on their debut collection of poetry.
